James has over 30 years of business experience including running his own business in the information technology (hardware, software and services) and business consulting industry in Melbourne. He assisted business owners in strategic planning, business improvement, mergers and acquisitions and business exit planning. Prior to migrating to Australia in 1978, he held various sales and marketing positions in companies supplying industrial, materials handling, construction and mining equipment in Malaysia.

James has a real estate and business broking licence and has been selling businesses since 2003. He is creative and innovative when structuring deals. He is skilled in identifying and uncovering the 'hidden values' of a business. His main aim is to achieve a 'win-win' outcome for all stakeholders (buyers, sellers or investors) in every transaction. James travels to the ASEAN region regularly as he has clients in Singapore and Malaysia.

He was involved with several business and community networks including the Chinese Professional & Business Association and is a Foundation Member of the Chinese Association of Victoria Inc. which was founded in 1982. He has also served in Rotary, the Victorian Government’s Small Business Mentoring Service and was on the Minister for Small Business’s Ethnic Enterprise Advisory Council, the peak body facilitating Government interaction with Victoria’s ethnic business community. In 2001, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of voluntary service to the community by the Premier of Victoria.

James holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (Swinburne). He was an Associate Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and member of the Australian Institute of Business Brokers. He is also a Certified QSA Internal Quality Auditor - ISO 9002.
